- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour and 1 tablespoon baking powder until evenly combined.
- Slowly pour in 1 cup milk and stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix the dough.
- Lightly flour a work surface and turn out the dough. Use your hands or a rolling pin to gently flatten it to about 1-inch thickness.
- Use a round cutter or a glass to cut out the biscuits. Gather scraps, knead lightly, and cut out additional biscuits.
- Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving warm with butter or jam.
Notes
For extra flavor, mix in herbs or shredded cheese into the dough before baking.
