Method
 

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocados to your desired level of creaminess.
  3. Immediately add the lime juice to the mashed avocados to prevent browning and add flavor.
  4. Incorporate the diced red onion and minced garlic into the mixture.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper, adjusting to your taste.
  6. Fold in chopped cilantro if desired for extra freshness.
  7. Taste the dip and adjust seasonings as needed.
  8. Transfer the dip to a serving dish and serve immediately with chips or veggies.
