- In a medium saucepan, mix the bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. This mixture is the heart of your glaze.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sugars dissolve and ingredients meld.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Continue to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Allow the mixture to simmer until it reduces by half, about 10 minutes, thickening to a sticky consistency.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly. The glaze will thicken more upon standing.
- Use immediately or transfer to a jar for storage. Refrigerate for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.
