Method
- Remove the Canadian bacon slices from the packaging and ensure they are evenly cut for uniform cooking.
- Place a skillet over medium heat and allow it to warm up for about 2 minutes.
- Add vegetable oil to the skillet if using, and swirl to coat the pan.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar, black pepper, and smoked paprika evenly over the bacon slices.
- Arrange the bacon slices in a single layer in the hot skillet, avoiding overcrowding.
- Cook each side for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Check that the internal temperature of the bacon reaches at least 145°F using a meat thermometer.
- Transfer the cooked bacon to a plate lined with paper towels using tongs and let it rest for a few minutes.
Notes
Serve in a breakfast sandwich with eggs and cheese, on top of pizza, or alongside pancakes. Leftovers freeze well for future meals.
