  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, for heat

Method
 

  1. Gather all spices and ensure they are fresh for maximum flavor.
  2. Measure out each spice using measuring spoons and add to a mixing bowl.
  3. Use a whisk or fork to blend the spices thoroughly until evenly combined.
  4. Taste a small pinch and adjust salt or cayenne pepper if desired.
  5. Transfer the seasoning mix into an air-tight container and store in a cool, dark place.
  6. To use as a dry rub, sprinkle generously on meat or vegetables before grilling.
  7. For a marinade, mix 2 tablespoons of seasoning with 1/4 cup oil and citrus juice, coat meat, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.

Notes

Store seasoning in an air-tight container in a cool, dark place for up to six months. Adjust spice levels to taste.
