  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 box of yellow cake mix, 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted, and 1 large egg. Mix until well blended.
  3. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan and pour the cake mixture into it. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat 8 oz cream cheese until smooth.
  5. Add 2 large eggs, 4 cups powdered sugar, and 1 tsp vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Beat until fully combined and smooth.
  6. Gently pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake layer in the pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, until the top is golden and slightly set.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

If desired, top with fresh berries or a drizzle of chocolate glaze before serving.
