Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 cup Graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or your favorite nuts

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Saucepan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula
  • Oven mitts

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and light brown sugar, stirring constantly until smooth and bubbling, about 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the Graham cracker crumbs until fully combined.
  5. Pour the crumb mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and use a spatula to spread it evenly and pack it down firmly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the hot base. Let sit for 2 minutes, then spread the softened chocolate with a spatula.
  8. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the melted chocolate and gently press them down so they adhere.
  9. Let the Christmas crack cool completely at room temperature, about 1 hour, before breaking it into pieces.
