  • 3 ounces champagne or sparkling wine
  • Lemon twist for garnish

Method
 

  1. Measure 2 ounces of gin using a jigger and pour into a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add 1 ounce of fresh lemon juice and 1/2 ounce of simple syrup to the shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and combine.
  4. Strain the mixture into a chilled champagne flute using a strainer.
  5. Slowly top the glass with 3 ounces of chilled champagne or sparkling wine to preserve the bubbles.
  6. Twist a lemon peel over the drink to release oils, then drop it in as a garnish.
  7. Serve immediately while the cocktail is bubbly and cold.

Notes

Use chilled ingredients and glassware for the best effervescence. Serve immediately to retain the bubbles.
