  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger freshly grated
  • 1 teaspoon chili paste optional

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  2. Pour 1/2 cup soy sauce into the mixing bowl.
  3. Add 1/4 cup rice vinegar to the bowl.
  4. Stir in 2 tablespoons sesame oil.
  5. Mix in 1 tablespoon sugar until dissolved.
  6. Add 1 tablespoon minced garlic and 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger.
  7. If desired, stir in 1 teaspoon chili paste for heat.
  8. Whisk all ingredients until well combined and sugar is fully dissolved.

Notes

Let the sauce sit for at least 30 minutes for the flavors to meld. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week and stir before using.
