Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients: 1 teaspoon baking soda, 2 teaspoons tartar cream, and 1 teaspoon cornstarch.
  2. Using a measuring spoon, measure and add 1 teaspoon of baking soda into a mixing bowl.
  3. Add 2 teaspoons of tartar cream to the bowl.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon of cornstarch to the mixture.
  5. Thoroughly mix all ingredients with a whisk or fork until uniformly combined, about 30 seconds.
  6. Transfer the mixture into an airtight storage container.
  7. Label the container with the current date and store in a cool, dry place.
  8. Use this homemade baking powder as a substitute for store-bought in your baking recipes, within three months for best results.
