  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage casings removed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce plus more for serving

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 pound ground beef and 1/2 pound Italian sausage, mixing thoroughly.
  4. Add 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, 2 large eggs, 1 small finely chopped onion, 3 cloves minced garlic, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  5. Shape the mixture into a uniform loaf on the prepared pan.
  6. Spoon 1/2 cup marinara sauce over the top of the loaf.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  8. Remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
