Ingredients

Main
  • 2 large potatoes cut into fries
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced jalapeños
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup guacamole optional

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into even fry shapes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, toss the potato fries with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the seasoned fries in a single layer on a baking sheet to prevent steaming.
  5. Bake the fries in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  6. Remove the fries from the oven and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and diced jalapeños. Return to the oven for 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
  7. Once the cheese is melted, remove the fries from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  8. Drizzle the fries with sour cream and guacamole, then serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, soak the fries in water for 30 minutes before baking, then pat dry.
