Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 bell pepper any color, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 1/2 cup green olives sliced
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Large skillet or frying pan
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method
 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned, about 8 minutes.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and diced tomato and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add the cumin, oregano, and paprika, stirring to combine.
  6. Mix in the sliced olives and raisins and stir to combine.
  7. Reduce heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes

Let the picadillo cool to room temperature before refrigerating to prevent condensation and keep flavors vibrant.
