  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon allspice berries
  • 1 tablespoon dill seeds
  • 1 tablespoon bay leaves crushed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon chips optional

Method
 

  1. Gather all spices and equipment before starting.
  2. Measure each spice accurately using measuring spoons and set aside.
  3. Combine mustard seeds, coriander seeds, black peppercorns, crushed red pepper flakes, allspice berries, dill seeds, crushed bay leaves, and cinnamon chips in a mixing bowl and stir until evenly blended.
  4. Optionally crush the spice blend lightly with a mortar and pestle to release more oils and aromas.
  5. Transfer the spice mixture into a glass jar with a tight-sealing lid.
  6. Seal the jar tightly and label it with the contents and date.
  7. Store the jar in a cool, dark place to maintain freshness.
  8. Use the pickling spice in your favorite pickle recipes to enhance flavor.
