- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt.
- Add 1/4 cup cold cubed unsalted butter and cut it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
- Pour in 3/4 cup buttermilk and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll to about 1-inch thickness.
- Use a cookie cutter or sharp knife to cut biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes in the preheated oven until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and brush tops with 2 tablespoons melted butter. Let cool slightly before serving.
