  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • Juice and zest of 1 large lemon
  • 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup parsley chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Pasta optional, for serving

Method
 

  1. Gather and measure all ingredients before you begin.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter; cook until the butter melts and bubbles.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until pink.
  5. Season the shrimp with salt and red pepper flakes.
  6. Pour in the white wine and lemon juice to deglaze the pan.
  7. Simmer the mixture for 3 to 4 minutes until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
  8. Stir in the remaining butter, lemon zest, and parsley until the sauce is creamy.

Notes

Serve over linguine or with crusty bread to soak up all of the buttery sauce.
