- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup cornstarch, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon onion powder.
- Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss until completely coated in the cornstarch mixture.
- Heat about 1/2 inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat (around 350°F) for 3-5 minutes until hot.
- Carefully place the coated shrimp in the hot oil in a single layer and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the shrimp and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Transfer the shrimp to a serving platter and garnish with sliced green onions.
- Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
Notes
Serve with sweet chili sauce or soy sauce for dipping.
