- In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, ground black pepper, onion powder, and ground ginger if using to make the marinade.
- Add the sirloin steak pieces to the marinade, ensuring each piece is fully coated, and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat and add a little oil to prevent sticking.
- Add the marinated sirloin tips in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until browned and a crust forms.
- Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 145°F for medium-rare doneness.
- Transfer the cooked sirloin tips to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
- Serve the sirloin tips with your choice of sides such as rice, vegetables, or salad and enjoy.
