  • 1 orange sliced
  • 3 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon allspice berries
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract optional

Method
 

  1. In a large pot, combine the apple cider, sliced orange, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, allspice berries, and brown sugar.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Once the mixture is simmering, reduce the heat to low and cook for about 1 hour.
  4. After 1 hour, taste the cider and adjust the sweetness or spice level to your preference.
  5. Using a strainer or cheesecloth, strain the cider into a clean container to remove solids.
  6. Pour the warm cider into mugs or heatproof glasses.
  7. Garnish each serving with a cinnamon stick or an orange slice, if desired.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy this cozy spiced cider.
