Ingredients

Main
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 package 6 oz Stove Top stuffing mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Equipment

  • Baking loaf pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Meat thermometer
  • Spatula or wooden spoon

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the Stove Top stuffing mix and water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to absorb the liquid.
  3. In another bowl, combine ground beef, egg, chopped onion, ketchup, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  4. Gently fold the prepared stuffing into the meat mixture until evenly distributed.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf, pressing down gently to remove air pockets.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, until the meatloaf is cooked through.
  7. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should read 160°F (71°C).
  8. Let the meatloaf rest in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Let the meatloaf rest before slicing to keep it juicy and prevent crumbling.
