Ingredients

Main
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup water

Equipment

  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Mixing bowl

Method

  1. Heat your skillet over medium heat and add the chopped onion; sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  2. Add the ground beef to the pan, break it apart, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Drain excess fat from the pan to prevent greasiness.
  4. Stir in the garlic, chili powder, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, mixing well to coat the meat.
  5. Pour in the water and stir to combine, creating a saucy texture.
  6. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Taste the meat and adjust seasoning if needed, adding more chili powder for heat.
  8. Remove from heat and serve in taco shells, burritos, or atop nachos with desired toppings.

Notes

For the most authentic flavor, let the meat rest for a few minutes before serving and enjoy with your favorite toppings like cheese, lettuce, or salsa.
