- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together 1 cup milk, 1 large egg, and 2 tablespoons melted butter until well combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture and stir until just combined, leaving a few lumps.
- Preheat the taiyaki pan over medium heat and lightly grease both sides with cooking spray.
- Pour enough batter into the bottom mold to cover the base.
- Place about 1/2 cup sweet red bean paste onto the batter, being careful not to overfill.
- Top the filling with additional batter, sealing the edges to enclose the filling.
- Close the mold and cook for 3-5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
