  • 2 cups cooked turkey diced
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables peas, carrots, corn
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper diced
  • 1/4 cup onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken or turkey broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce optional
  • Cooked rice or pasta for serving

Method
 

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add the onion and bell pepper and cook for 3-4 minutes until soft.
  2. Stir in the frozen mixed vegetables and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir constantly for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in the broth and milk, stirring continuously until smooth.
  5. Add the garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, mixing to combine.
  6. Add the cooked turkey, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
  7. Meanwhile, cook the rice or pasta according to package instructions.
  8. Serve the Turkey Ala King over the prepared rice or pasta immediately.
