  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper (optional)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk or mixing spoon

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat 1 cup unsalted butter, 1 cup granulated sugar, and 1 cup brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition, then stir in 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined without overmixing.
  6. Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each mound.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are slightly soft.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Always chill your dough for at least 30 minutes before baking for an even better texture.
