- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Generously season the beef tenderloin with salt and pepper on all sides.
- Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the seasoned beef tenderloin to the skillet and sear for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until browned.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast the beef for 20 to 25 minutes for medium-rare doneness.
- Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; aim for 125°F (51°C) for medium-rare or 135°F (57°C) for medium.
- Remove the skillet from the oven, cover the beef loosely with aluminum foil, and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Slice the beef tenderloin against the grain, garnish with fresh herbs, and serve immediately.
