Ingredients

Main
  • 4 ears of sweet corn
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: butter lime juice, chili powder, grated cheese

Equipment

  • Grill (gas or charcoal)
  • Grill brush
  • Long tongs
  • Aluminum foil (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Husk the corn and remove all silk strands.
  3. Brush each ear of corn with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.
  4. Place the corn directly on the grill grates perpendicular to the bars for even cooking.
  5. Grill the corn for 10 to 15 minutes, turning every few minutes until kernels are tender and charred.
  6. Check doneness by piercing a kernel; it should be tender with a slight char, then remove from the grill.
  7. Slather the corn with butter or drizzle with lime juice and add any optional toppings as desired.
  8. Serve the grilled corn warm and enjoy immediately.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, soak the corn in water for 30 minutes before grilling. This steams the corn while it cooks.
