Ingredients

Main
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil plus more for drizzling
  • Optional toppings: rosemary sea salt, olives, cherry tomatoes, etc.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Wooden spoon or dough whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper (optional)
  • Plastic wrap or kitchen towel

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine 4 cups all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons salt, and 1 teaspoon instant yeast.
  2. Pour in 1 1/2 cups warm water and 1/4 cup olive oil, stirring until combined. The dough will be sticky.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet with olive oil or line it with parchment paper.
  5. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet and use your fingers to stretch it to the corners, creating dimples along the surface.
  6. Let the dough rise for an additional 20-30 minutes until puffy.
  7. Drizzle more olive oil over the dough and sprinkle with desired toppings such as sea salt and rosemary.
  8. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Use your fingertips to create deeper dimples—they hold olive oil beautifully.
