Ingredients

Main
  • 1 pound minute steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Equipment

  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Tongs or spatula
  • Meat thermometer (optional)

Method

  1. Pat the minute steak dry with paper towels.
  2. Season both sides of the steak generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat (around 375°F) and add olive oil.
  4. Add minced garlic to the hot skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Place the seasoned steak in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.
  6. In the last minute of cooking, add butter to the pan and baste the steak with melted butter.
  7. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
  8. Slice the steak against the grain and serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

Always let the steak rest after cooking for better texture and flavor.
