Ingredients

For the Base
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Optional Add-ins
  • 1/2 cup mix-ins crushed cookies, chocolate chips, or fruit puree
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder for chocolate variation
  • 2 tablespoons fruit juice concentrate for fruity variations

Equipment

  • Ninja Creami machine
  • Creami-compatible frozen cups or freezer-safe containers
  • Whisk or blending spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Mixing bowl
  • Freezer

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
  2. Stir in vanilla extract and salt, whisking for 30 seconds to incorporate.
  3. Gently fold in any optional mix-ins, being careful not to over-stir.
  4. Pour the mixture into Creami cups, filling to one inch below the rim.
  5. Tap the cups gently on the counter to remove air bubbles.
  6. Place cups upright in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours until solid.
  7. Once frozen, install the Ninja Creami machine on a level surface and allow it to acclimate at room temperature.
  8. Insert a frozen cup into the machine and select your desired texture (e.g., gelato or sorbet) and process for 30–60 seconds.
  9. Serve immediately in chilled bowls to maintain the soft-serve texture.

Notes

Sweetened condensed milk is essential for smooth texture and to prevent ice crystals; do not substitute with granulated sugar.
