  • 4 large oranges preferably sweet and juicy
  • 1 tablespoon sugar optional, adjust to taste
  • Ice cubes optional, for serving

  • Citrus juicer or reamer
  • Measuring cup
  • Pitcher or serving glass
  • Fine mesh strainer (optional)

Method
 

  1. Wash the oranges under running water to remove any residue.
  2. Slice each orange in half crosswise to expose the juice.
  3. Press each orange half on the citrus juicer or reamer to extract the juice.
  4. If desired, strain the juice through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher or glass for a pulp-free drink.
  5. Taste the juice and stir in sugar if additional sweetness is desired, until fully dissolved.
  6. Pour the juice over ice cubes or serve it fresh at room temperature based on preference.
  7. Garnish each glass with a slice of orange on the rim for a decorative touch.

Notes
