Ingredients

Main
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 blend for juiciness
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices of American cheese
  • Toppings: lettuce tomato, onion, pickles, or your favorites
  • Condiments: ketchup mustard, mayo

Equipment

  • Blackstone griddle
  • Flat spatula
  • Meat press or heavy skillet
  • Meat thermometer (optional)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Serving plates

Method

  1. Preheat the Blackstone griddle over medium-high heat (about 375°F) for 10 minutes to ensure a perfect sear and crispy edges.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal 4-ounce portions and gently shape each into a loose ball without overworking the meat.
  3. Season each beef ball generously with salt and pepper on all sides to enhance natural juices and flavor.
  4. Place a beef ball on the hot griddle and immediately press down firmly with a flat spatula or meat press to flatten the patty thinly.
  5. Cook the patties without moving for 2 to 3 minutes until a deep brown crust forms on the bottom.
  6. Place a slice of American cheese on each patty, cover with a lid or dome for 1 minute to melt the cheese thoroughly.
  7. While the cheese melts, toast the burger buns on the griddle for 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Assemble the burgers by layering your desired toppings and condiments on the bottom bun, adding the patty, and topping with the bun crown. Serve immediately.

Notes

Make sure your griddle is properly preheated for crispy edges and serve the burgers immediately to enjoy the optimal juiciness and texture.
